Statement of the Job :
The Small Animal Research Facility (SARF) is UMaine?s primary vertebrate animal research facility, and is part of UMaine?s Coordinated Operating Research Entities (CORE) facilities program. The SARF Lab Manager is responsible for the overall animal care and general management of the facility, and coordinates access and use of the facility with both internal and external clients conducting animal research. The SARF Lab Manager works directly with clients to fulfill their obligation to plan and conduct animal research in accordance with the highest scientific, humane and ethical principles. The typical hiring range for this position is $38,000 to $44,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications :
Bachelor?s degree in pre-veterinary discipline, biology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with small animal research or small animal care in a veterinary setting.
Demonstrated ability to work cordially & productively with a wide variety of constituencies and develop and maintain professional relationships.
Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs and be able to remain on their feet for up to 8 hours per day.
Applicant must be able to travel to the SARF in adverse weather conditions.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
Significant experience with MS Office and Google applications.
Master?s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with NIH research standards of animal care.
Licensed veterinary technician.
Experience using iLab core facility management software.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
