Administrative Specialist CL3-Auxiliary Services Interactive Marketing

Position is available to employees of the Associated C.O.L.T. Staff of the University of Maine from 04/18/2018 through 04/24/2018 and open to external applicants thereafter.
Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position pays $15.20/hour.
This position serves as the social media/marketing and web specialist for the University of Maine Auxiliary Services departments including the University Bookstore, Dining Services, MaineCard, Housing, Printing & Mailing. The successful candidate will be proficient in all aspects of electronic marketing and social media and must have a proven record of website experience that has helped drive traffic to specific websites and media thus increasing sales while engaging customers. The UMaine community customer base is made up of students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and athletic fans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This position will work with the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for UMaine Auxiliary Services and the Manager of Retail Athletic Sales & eCommerce to create, implement, and maintain internet and social media strategies with valuable input from department directors. This hands-on position is responsible for both strategic and technical tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for championing creative solutions that deliver insightful customer value and engagement across every interaction while working within budget.
Continually strive to improve the usability, design, content and overall customer experience for our retail websites:
o Monitor websites for outdated content
o Update content to ensure accurate merchandise & pricing
o Photograph merchandise and events
o Remove discontinued product from sites
o Troubleshoot website issues and collaborate with auxiliary tech department, UMaine web office as needed
Ensure social media and internet campaigns are consistent with UMaine branding standards
Act as designated lead person for Auxiliary Services' social media presence:
o Responsible for daily monitoring and for creating and publishing innovative, mission-targeted posts on a variety of platforms such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, SMS marketing, email campaigns etc.
o Responsible for professionally and appropriately responding to individual comments and requests for information in a timely manner.
Perform consistent and effective analysis to track activity and progress on websites and social media channels; provide regular reports to team members
o Track analytics and generate reports to measure successes, react accordingly to realign efforts with goals
Conduct market research, benchmarking, data mining on customer behavior and attitudes, trends in the market and social media/internet, competition, etc.
Responds, both verbally and in writing, to customers regarding non-routine questions, issues and procedures, handling complex issues and requests with sensitivity and tact as well as a comprehensive understanding of relevant policies, procedures and operations.
Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
Must have experience in digital marketing strategies such as ecommerce, ePOS management, Internet marketing, web content & social media
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required as well as exceptional customer service skills
Must have proficiency in the English language (grammar, spelling, proofreading & writing)
Experience in marketing copy and strategies preferred
Expertise in WordPress and an ePOS system, and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Previous success effectively collaborating with a cross-departmental team to meet objectives and goals is preferred
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills preferred
Comfortable with working with others and independently at times in a fast-paced, multifunctional, professional and rewarding environment at UMaine.
Must work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the Auxiliary Services, UMaine administration, the campus community, and external clients and customers.
Willing to develop and maintain professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility and respect.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
