Food Service Assistant

Full-time, regular ten-month position. Work year is mid-August - mid-June with daily work schedule of Sunday 9:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m.; Monday 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday - Thursday 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Employee performs manual work in maintaining a clean and orderly food service operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work is performed under direct supervision. Cleans, mops, sweeps and dusts kitchen facilities; insures proper garbage and trash removal; requisitions supplies from stockroom; receives, stores and distributes supplies; cleans, washes and polishes equipment, pots, pans and traps; maintains neat appearance of working areas and cleaning equipment storage areas; changes light bulbs, stacks and arranges chairs; makes minor repairs on equipment and facilities; performs all tasks necessary in the dish room; removes dishes from dish machine and stores them; launders rags and aprons as needed. Performs other duties as needed to include keeping entryways clear of debris and snow removal.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in food service, minor maintenance and cleaning are required. Candidate will have demonstrated customer service experience. Position requires understanding labels and a desire to gain a working knowledge of safety and sanitation practices. Position typically requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Appropriate background checks and post-offer preemployment physical required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
