Instructional Technology Specialist-6 Month Temporary Postions

The position is located on the Orono campus of the University of Maine.
The University of Maine System is seeking to employ an Instructional Technology Specialist to work on the FirstClass Migration Project. The University is shutting down FirstClass. This position will support approximately 200 faculty members convert approximately 700 courses and related content from FirstClass to Blackboard, Google Apps for Education and other platforms. The position will also provide faculty training in the new LMS and collaborative platforms.
The person who fills this position will plan and deliver one-on-one and group training in Blackboard, Kaltura, Google Apps for Education, and other learning and collaborating platforms. They will also prepare written, digital, and video-based training materials
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The person who fills this position will need familiarity with current and recent (last 10 years) of file formats and software used to create and share audio, video, image, text, and mathematical content.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred: Technical Skills and Experience Needed
Google Apps for Education
Operating Systems
File formats
Video (+/- last 15 years, e.g. Quicktime)
Audio (+/- last 15 years)
Equation Editor (e.g. LaTeX)
Providing one-on-one and group training
Creating clear written and visual training materials
Experience with 2 or more Learning Management Systems
Experience with teaching, assessment, and related areas as they relate to digital learning platforms
BA/BS: Preferably in Education, CS, or another technology-related field.
The starting rate is $22.16/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within UMS.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
