Purpose :
The University of Maine Canadian-American Center and the Department of History invite applications for a joint academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Canadian History with a specialization in environmental history, preferably of northeastern North America, effective August 31, 2015. The tenure home for this position is in the History Department. Candidate's research interests and teaching expertise should complement the History Department's existing programs in U.S. and European history.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Annual teaching responsibilities ordinarily include two Canadian Studies courses for the Canadian-American Center, and two courses for the History Department at the undergraduate or graduate level. The position will eventually involve administration and grant-writing responsibilities at the Canadian-American Center, for which the teaching load will be adjusted accordingly.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications :
A Ph.D. in an appropriate field is required by date of hire.
Demonstrated scholarship and teaching experience are required.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Administrative experience and a record of success in external funding are preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
