Purpose :
The Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of Maine invites applications for a tenure-track, academic-year Assistant Professor of Environmental Communication, effective August 31, 2015.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Responsibilities include conducting research and teaching in the area of Environmental Communication. Tenure track faculty members engage in research, teaching, and service activities. The teaching load for tenure-track, full graduate faculty members is ordinarily two courses per term. The successful candidate will be expected to advise bachelors, masters, and doctoral students and teach courses in quantitative and/or qualitative methods, environmental communication, and core courses that support our undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as develop and teach topical courses that support and extend our degree offerings.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications :
A Ph.D. in Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field is required by date of hire. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of high-quality teaching, scholarly productivity, collaborative work across and external to the university, participation on research teams with diverse disciplinary members, and success in obtaining external research funding. Expertise in the area of health related to the environment is desirable but not required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
